STORMWATER MANAGEMENT - COLORADO

Course
Description
Stormwater Management & Erosion Control During Construction

This course details specific Best Management Practices (BMPs) for erosion, sediment and pollution control during construction
Developing and Implementing Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP)
This training program is designed to provide information about how to prepare and implement SWMPs, to help comply with the requirements of the CDPS permit as issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Water Quality Control Division (WQCD).
Conducting Stormwater Compliance Inspections
This two-day program was specifically designed for inspectors who are or will be conducting compliance inspections for the state of Colorado Stormwater Program, but is now available for open-enrollment for industry professionals. This is an advanced class and has a prerequisite of prior training.
SWMP Administrator Certification A two-day certification program focusing on the competencies of the permit required SWMP Administrator. This program is also designed and intended to provide support training and guidance for SWMP Administrators. Certifications are issued by Red Rocks Comm. College and are valid for three years.
Maintenance of Permanent Best Management Practices
This class is designed for BMP owners responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of stormwater structures and features as it relates to the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit

Course
Description
Storm Water Management & Erosion Control During Construction (BMP-101)

This course details specific Best Management Practices (BMP) for erosion, sediment and pollution control during construction

SWPPP Administrator Certification (BMP-201)

A two-day certification program focusing on the competencies of the permit required SWPPP Administrator. This program is also designed and intended to provide support training and guidance for SWPPP Administrators. Certifications are endorsed by The Montana-DEQ, The Montana Contractors Association and are valid for three years.

Conducting Storm Water Compliance Evaluation Inspections-Montana (BMP-301)

This two-day program was specifically designed for site personnel, industry professionals and municipal inspectors who are or will be conducting storm water inspections in Montana. This is an advanced class and has a prerequisite of prior training.
SWPPP Preparer (BMP-202) This training program is designed to provide information about how to prepare and implement SWPPPs, to help comply with the requirements of the Montana Construction Storm Water Permit, as issued by the Montana Dept. of Environmental Quality-Water Protection Bureau.

Working In Waterways Best Management Practices
This 1/2-day course addresses primarily work in and adjacent to waterways. It is designed to provide participants with a common basis of how to achieve effective and compliant construction management for these projects. This course provides detailed information about the design, installation, maintenance and inspection of BMPs that may be used to prevent or control erosion and sedimentation during construction activities in and adjacent to waterways
International Environmental and Safety Standards
Strategic Environmental & Safety Management
This course outlines international standards for Environmental and Occupational Safety & Health Management Systems such as ISO and the European Union directives
Essentials for Recognizing Hazardous Materials and Wastes During Landfill Operations
Haz mat recognition course designed for landfill operators, supervisors and personnel as required in the municipal solid waste landfill requirements
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Training
Training for facility personnel responsible for handling and management of hazardous waste
Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA)
Title III
Training program covering the emergency planning, release notification and Community Right-to-Know reporting requirements
Introduction to Environmental Law A survey of major federal environmental laws. Course can be tailored to a particular state
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HazWOPER) OSHA 24 or 40 hour safety training for handling hazardous materials or waste. Mandated by OSHA
OSHA Occupational Safety and Health for Construction Safety training for business and industry focusing on title 29 CFR part 1926. This is an *OTI course
Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance, Hazardous Materials Transportation Hazardous materials transportation compliance training. DOT regulations contained in 49 CFR Subchapter C
Confined Space Entry and Rescue Worker safety training for confined or enclosed work locations and rescue operations
OSHA Occupational Safety and Health for General Industry Safety training for business and industry focusing on title 29 CFR part 1910
OSHA Hazard Communication Training (Worker-Right-to- Know) Worker or instructor training programs for handling hazardous chemicals in the workplace
Respiratory Protection
Based on the OSHA respiratory protection standard and details the requirements of the standard

Successful completion of these training classes requires participation.

Training participants that miss 10% or more of any training day will not receive a certificate.

Certifications also require passing a written test.
